Mary Ann Gaul is a native of Pittsburgh, Pa. and was educated at Trinity College, Washington, D.C. and the University of Pittsburgh . For the past 30 years she has lived in Hingham with her husband and three children. She has been a serious watercolor painter for the past three decades; a student of Peter Spataro, Judy Wagner, Tony Van Hasselt and others. Mary Ann first came to painting through gardening, then flower arranging.  With her clear fresh palette, she expresses her love for flowers and the love that only a transplant can feel for New England and its architecture.  Besides Hingham , she has painted in Cohasset, Nantucket , Florida , Provence and the coast of Maine .
